A polarizing filter removes light glare and improves vehicle picture quality with iVana photos. The filter comes with a clamp for smartphones.

Installation

Remove the filter components from the packaging.
Be careful of the filter glass. Clean it if needed to remove fingerprints, smudges, or dirt.
Seat the filter in the filter holder hole.
Clamp the filter assembly over the phone camera and cover. The filter doesn't have to be perfectly centered over the camera. Just be sure the camera has an unobstructed view.

Filter Calibration

For a fixed camera, position a vehicle on the turntable in 3/4 view, which is the typical start position where the car is mostly in profile with the front facing forward. You also can position the car directly facing the camera. These positions typically provide the most glare on the vehicle body and glass.
Start iVana. Go to Detail pictures so you see the camera view, preferably on a large screen monitor.
Slowly rotate the filter through a full revolution. Stop at the point where the monitor displays the view with the least amount of glare, while not affecting picture brightness or contrast.
If this is a new camera or 4K iVana installation, proceed with the camera calibration.
If the phone has already been calibrated for adjusted time interval and exposure setting, shoot the car. Review the production for photo timing and picture quality and brightness. Compare it to a prior production. If you see a difference or photo degradation, re-calibrate the camera.
