Set up a Replacement Camera

We recommend having a spare smartphone camera as a backup or for testing.

 

Your camera is just one element in the integrated EZ360 Photo Studio.  When you set up a new camera it should be calibrated with your full system and may require changes in settings, camera placement, or other equipment.  

 

Device Certification

The following phones are certified with the latest version of iVana from the Google Play store and provide the best performance.  Other current Android models should work but are not supported by EZ360. 

 

4K iVana

• Samsung S22.  This is our current standard.
• Google Pixel 7.  

Device Setup

A basic guide follows with recommendations in setting up your replacement smartphone.  Options may vary based on phone model and Android version. 

1. Android setup

Factory reset.  If the Pixel has an existing Android installation, it should be erased through a factory reset.

• Go to phone Settings
• Click search and enter 'factory'.
• Select and initiate Factory reset.

Android setup

• You will need your Google account credentials.
• Options should be declined or skipped - such as adding an account phone number - to avoid normal setup and use distractions. 

Home screen.  Move 4K iVana and Settings apps to the home screen for easy access.

Phone settings.  Do or search for the following.

• Disable incomplete setup alerts.
  • Click Apps and then See All.
  • Click the three dots (ellipsis) in the top right corner and choose Show System
  • Go to Android Setup
  • Choose "Force Stop" and then "Disable"

• Search for “alert”. Select Emergency alerts.  Turn all settings off
• Search for “timeout”. Select Screen timeout.  Select the longest time.
• Search for "battery".  Find and select Battery percentage and turn on.
• Search for "developer".  You should have an entry for Developer options.  If you don't
  • Search for "build". 
    • Select Build Number section. 
    • Tap on Build Number seven times.
  • You will receive a ‘You are now a developer’ notification.
• Search for "debug".  Select USB debugging.  Turn USB debugging ON.
• Two options under that is Wireless debugging.  Turn ON.
• Directly under that is Disable adb authorization timeout.  Turn ON.

4K iVana

• Go to the iVana 4K listing at the Google Play Store.
• Search for “ivana”. Select and install 4K iVana.
• SKIP payment for Play Store account setup.
• Enter Google ID and password if needed.
• When you first start iVana
  • Select YES for the app to take pictures, etc.
  • Review and set all settings as needed. If this is an existing installation, many iVana options will already be downloaded from our server when you log in.
  • Calibrate the camera as desired for zoom and exposure. 
• If the camera is for preshoots, when you shoot the studio production make sure the cameras used at the studio are in  replacement mode.
• If at a studio, Contact EZ360 if needed to reconnect phone to the EZPi.
